Persistence of a Memory
He could express what his mind
told him- which isn’t easy
stretching time, warping its
images
stopping death, watching the
monster fall and
pull into itself.
A long stretch of beach ripples
and hope dives off a cliff.
A broken tree, unresponsive
doesn’t dare give away what
he portrays
no clear cut meaning.
He doesn’t want us to be right
just imaginative.
But all we see
in his creation is
another person in the
persistence of a memory.
